Volunteering, Clinical Placements
A review of volunteering at Counselling Trust has just taken place and we hope that
we will be able to find an area of interest for anyone considering becoming a volunteer
with Counselling Trust. We receive a large number of enquiries regarding volunteering
and we strive to find mutually beneficial areas for volunteers to work in or develop.
Due to the nature of the organisation, we are in some ways limited to what we can
offer as jobs for volunteers. For ethical reasons all volunteers must be prepared
to sign a confidentiality agreement.
PLEASE NOTE
To be considered for a position as a counsellor or psychotherapist the applicant
must be a qualified psychodynamic counsellor or psychotherapist, have some experience
of counselling an appropriate range of clients and have completed, or be in, ongoing
psychodynamic or psychoanalytic personal therapy or be group psychotherapy. The
applicant must also work within the BACP Ethical Framework and relevant UKCP ethical
requirements, and ensure that they maintain sound ethical standards of practice.
Counselling Trust is open from Monday to Thursday 7.45am to 9pm, 11 hours per day,
with core office hours being 9am to 5pm.
Volunteering - Things to Consider
Should you wish to become a volunteer please take the time to consider the points
below before contacting
Counselling Trust and include some indication of
the answers relevant to you.
- How much time am I realistically able and willing to give to Counselling Trust?
- How often am I realistically able and willing to give this time to Counselling
Trust?
- What time of the day/week am I realistically able and willing to give time to
Counselling Trust?
- In which areas have I particular skills, which I am able and willing to use at
Counselling Trust?
- In which areas am I looking to work?
Counselling Trust may utilise volunteer help in the areas listed below. When no specific
level of skill is indicated it is likely there would be work available at all levels,
possibly project based, working with the relevant area's Administrators or Manager.
