Individual Counselling
There are times when it can seem very hard to cope with life's difficulties and
challenges. During these periods in our lives it can seem like we have problems
all around us, difficulties can seem to collide and it's almost impossible not to
be overwhelmed.
Such difficulties can include:
- Bereavement
- Persistent feelings of dissatisfaction
- Suffering the pain of loss or bereavement
- Loneliness, moodiness
- Sadness, depression, feelings of failure, stress, or anxiety
- Disordered eating, problems with drugs or alcohol
- Problems with anger
- Feeling out of control
- Panic or free floating anxiety
During these times, it is important that individuals and families not be isolated. On their own, and even in the warmest communities, individuals can becomes
lonely and families separate because this appears to be the only option. Being able
to access the best help when you need to is one of the main reasons to make use
of professional counselling. In this setting the boundaries of safety, confidentiality
make it more likely that individuals and families recover from their difficulties
and go on to create more fulfilling lives.
At CPT we can provide regular individual sessions with a counsellor. In a secure
and confidential setting you can explore your goals, thoughts and feelings with
your counsellor. Each session lasts 50 minutes. The therapist works with you to
make sense of long-standing modes of thinking and behaviour, increase your understanding,
confront destructive patterns and work towards beneficial change.
